1.Proper watering
Insufficient watering may weaken the lawn’s resistance, making it susceptible to diseases and weeds. Excessive watering will cause the lawn to lack oxygen, which can lead to physiological diseases and root damage. Make full use of irrigation or rainfall to ensure that the lawn in the growing season has enough water.
2. Environmentally friendly fertilization
Fertilization of lawns should pay attention to environmental protection. After fertilization, spilled fertilizers should be removed and driveways should be swept in time to prevent spilled fertilizers from entering streets and sewers with rainwater or other runoff, thereby causing waterway pollution.
3.Pest control
Poorly maintained lawns are susceptible to insect attacks, so before using pesticides, the fertilization, irrigation and weeding measures of the lawn should be checked first. Improvements in these measures will not only reduce pests, but also make the lawn healthier and more beautiful. The larvae of several insects chew on the roots of the grass in spring and summer, causing damage to the turf. Irrigation is the best way to deal with these larvae. Pesticides can also be effective if the larvae are close to the soil surface. In early to mid-July, insecticides can be used to remove pests.
4.Decorate the lawn
If you want to mow the lawn into a “strip” or “block” pattern similar to that of a professional baseball field, you can do so by “back-and-forth mowing”. Mowing the lawn with the “back-and-forth mowing” method can bend the blades in opposite directions, causing the sunlight to refract in different directions, thus creating differences in grass color.
5.Recycling grass clippings
Instead of discarding the clippings, it is better to recycle the clippings by using a grass clipping lawnmower or increasing the frequency of mowing. These clippings will not only not form a dead grass layer, but can also provide valuable nutrients for the lawn, thereby reducing the amount of fertilizer.
6.Control broadleaf weeds
Broadleaf weeds such as dandelions appear in spring and can generally be removed with the herbicide Caokuojing, which is specifically used to remove broadleaf weeds; for malignant perennial chrysanthemum weeds, Pujujing can be used for prevention and control.
7.Loosening the lawn
Soil Special aeration equipment can be used for loosening the lawn soil, but the aeration process is relatively slow. If your lawn does not have problems with soil compaction and dead grass, you do not need to aerate your lawn.
