Post-sowing management is very important. The following are seven management elements, including: drilling and ventilation, loosening roots, pruning, weed control, fertilization, irrigation and reseeding.
1.Drilling and ventilation: that is, making some small holes in the lawn to provide sufficient oxygen for the roots and stems. Doing it 2-3 times a year can improve the quality of the lawn.
2. Loosening roots: that is, removing dead leaves and pesticide residues from the lawn, allowing the grass to breathe freely to reduce the chance of infection by fungi and diseases. Loosening roots can be applied once in spring and autumn.
3. Pruning: Mowing 2-3 times a week can keep the lawn dense and elastic. But please note that pruning does not mean mowing too low. Decorative lawns should be kept at a height of 2-4 cm, and recreational lawns should be between 4-5 cm. If you think mowing the lawn is troublesome, Bailu Group also provides you with low-maintenance mixed lawn seeds. This mixed ratio includes special breeding materials and slow-growing grass seeds.
4. Weed control: Different methods such as chemical or biological methods can be used to solve it. For most lawns, moss removal is a big problem. The cause of moss is usually due to mowing too low or poor nutrition or poor soil pH; it may also be due to insufficient sunlight. This requires choosing other mixing ratios. Ferrous sulfate can be used to remove moss, and there are many different brands of products on the market.
If there are too many weeds, it is necessary to turn the soil and re-sow.
5. Fertilization is not difficult. Fertilizer can be applied every 4 weeks. No fertilizer is required in autumn and winter.
6. Excessive or frequent watering is not good for grass. It makes the roots of grass lazy and does not go deep into the soil, thus reducing the drought resistance of the lawn.
If sprinkler irrigation is used, it should be carried out in the morning and evening, and once or twice a week in the dry season.
7. Overseeder is to sow those plots that are trampled and worn. Generally speaking, there is no need to re-seed the entire lawn.
