一、Classification standards of green grass lawn
1. Special green grass lawn: green period of 360 days per year, flat green grass lawn, stubble height controlled below 25mm, for viewing only.
2. First-level green grass lawn: green period of more than 340 days, flat green grass lawn, stubble below 40mm, for viewing and family rest.
3. Second-level green grass lawn: green period of more than 320 days, flat green grass lawn or gentle slope, stubble below 60mm, for public rest and light trampling.
4. Third-level green grass lawn: green period of more than 300 days, stubble below 100mm, for public rest, covering wasteland, slope protection, etc.
5. Fourth-level green grass lawn: green period is unlimited, stubble height requirements are not strict, used for covering wasteland, slope protection, etc.
二、 Maintenance of golf green grass lawns
1. Pruning
To keep the lawn smooth and perfect, the lawn should be pruned frequently. Excessive growth will lead to root necrosis.
(1) Frequency of mowing
① Special-grade grass should be mowed every 5 days during the spring and summer growing season, and once or twice a month in autumn and winter depending on the growth situation.
② First-grade grass should be mowed every 10 days during the growing season, and once a month in autumn and winter.
③ Second-grade grass should be mowed every 20 days during the growing season, twice in autumn, no mowing in winter, and re-mowing before the spring.
④ Third-grade grass should be mowed once a season.
⑤ Fourth-grade grass should be mowed thoroughly once a year in winter with a brush cutter.
(2) Selection of machinery
① Special-grade golf green grass lawns can only be mowed with a drum mower, first- and second-grade golf green grass lawns with a rotary cutter, third-grade golf green grass lawns with a cushion machine or brush cutter, and fourth-grade golf green grass lawns with a brush cutter. All grass edges should be mowed with a soft rope brush cutter or hand mowers.
② Before each mowing, the approximate height of the green grass lawn should be measured first, and the height of the blade should be adjusted according to the selected machine. Generally, for special to second grade grass, the length of each mowing should not exceed 1/3 of the grass height.
③ Mowing steps:
a. Remove stones, dead branches and other debris on the grass.
b. Select the direction, which should have at least 30° intersection with the previous direction, to avoid repeated mowing in the direction causing the green grass lawn to grow to one side.
c. Keep the speed neither fast nor slow, the route is straight, and the cutting surface of each round-trip mowing should be guaranteed to overlap by about 10cm.
d. If you encounter obstacles, you should bypass them, and the irregular grass edges around should be mowed along the curve. When turning, you should reduce the throttle.
e. If the grass is too long, it should be cut short in batches, and overload operation is not allowed.
f. The green grass lawns at the corners, roadbeds, and under the trees should be mowed with a brush cutter. If you mow around flowers and small shrubs, you are not allowed to use a brush cutter (to avoid accidentally hurting flowers and trees). These places should be mowed by hand.
g. After mowing, sweep the grass clippings into bags, clean the site, and clean the machine.
(3) Mowing quality standards
① After mowing, the overall effect is smooth, without obvious ups and downs and missed cuttings, and the cut ends are even.
② Use brush cutter-type hand shears to make up for obstacles and tree head edges, and there are no obvious missed cutting marks.
③ There are no obvious staggered marks around irregular areas and turning positions.
④ Clean the site cleanly without missing grass clippings or debris.
⑤ Efficiency standard: 200-300㎡/h for a single machine.
